Holly came into rescue as a starving mother of 6 pleading for help in a motel parking lot by some loud construction. After she was fed and allowed to relax, she lay by her rescuer and gave huge purrs in exchange for pets. She helped the rescuer trap her kittens, and was an absolute dream mother throughout her time with her kits. Now, she is a beautiful adult cat who gets to explore her life with a furever family. Holly excels at sharing her thoughts about her day with a melodic song for most situations. She doesn’t cry about things, but she might give a meow to remind you breakfast is late or to ask for help if she can’t find something she is seeking. She really didn’t like living in a house full of dogs, and took a few swipes at dogs that came too close for the first few months. Now, though, she allows dogs to come close, will cuddle on the same bed as a dog (but not too close), and allows dogs to pass by her most of the time. There have been a few incidents. She had a few hisses and growls for the resident cat at first, too. Now, the two ladies share space comfortably, and have engaged in play together. Note: Her fosters think much of her initial disapproval of resident animals happened because she was protecting her kittens from a stranger, so it is not fair to her to make a judgment about her interactions with other animals. Holly’s acceptance of strange animals has grown as her kits have.
